This section will talk about new products and new methods to refill. Canon Canon has introduced new ink tanks for the BJC-8200 Photo Printer. The new BCI-6 tanks replace the BCI-5 tanks, are being discontinued. BCI-6 tanks need a new printer driver. You can still use the BCI-5 tanks, unless you change the printer driver. You can still order the BCI-5 tanks from Atlascopy.com. Epson first six color photo printer was reduced from $200 to $149. The Epson Stylus 780 printer was introduced in February. This printer has smart-chip technology in their cartridges. At this time Atlascopy.com has no supplies for this printer. We are introducing compatible cartridges for the Epson 777/ 777i. These cartridges contain a smart chip and must be re- programmed in order to work. We have a kit available that comes with a re-programming device and a black and color cartridge. Prices are undetermined for this kit but will be around the $50 range. Filled cartridges will be available to those who already purchased the kit and own the re-programming device. Prices to be announced. Email us for more information. Hewlett Packard HP unveiled its new Deskjet 960c series printers. These printers are great for home or business use, They have speeds up to 15 pages per minute in black. The Deskjet 960c can be used for either PC and USB connect Macintosh. The Deskjet 960cxi has a price tag of $299. The price was not available for the Deskjet 960cse at the time of this newsletter. With the hefty price the 960c series will carry, it will be nice to save money on the supplies for this printer. The cartridges for this series are the color C6578AN or DN and the black HP51645A. The Lexmark Z43 Color Jetprinter and the Lexmark Z53 Color Jet- printer, both of these printers have a 2400 by 1200 dpi (dots per inch) for all paper types. The Z43 carries a price tag of $99 and the Z53 carries a $139 price tag. The cartri- dges used in these two printers are the black 12A1970 cartri- dge and the color 15M125 cartridge. You can Email questions to Atlas@dvol.com. Tip #1 When refilling a three color cartridge there is a chance that you can have the cartridge turned the wrong way and get the colors mixed up. If this happens there is not much hope of repairing it. Try using toothpicks to push into the refill holes and sample the colors that belong in the chamber. That way there is less of a chance that you will put the wrong ink into a chamber. Tip #2 Always run the printers head cleaning routine a few times after installing your newly refilled cartridge. This will get the ink flowing properly. Tip #3 Make sure your cartridge is NOT leaking when you re-install it in your printer. If the cartridge is leaking leave it sit- ting on a paper towel or newspaper for a time until it stops leaking.
